In fact, when I search for 'Roguekiller' in my search bar, the only thing that comes up is the Desktop icon. I tried to find the folder in which Roguekiller was installed to uninstall it (it doesn't show up in my Control Panel>Programs to allow me to uninstall). Now, I obviously am not doing this but in the post, other posters were telling the OP that it sounded as if he had an infected PC. After a while I came across an older (and closed) forum post (in another forum) where an obviously irritated OP was blaming the author for Roguekiller for the 7-Zip thing. All the other add-ons seemed to be auto-installed with the update.Īfter seeing this, I closed down the updater (without updating) and went in search for info on the net. However, the only add-on program that gave me the option to not install it was Yahoo Toolbar. I figured that this was just something that allowed the maker of the software to keep it free so I was going to customize the install and not choose the unwanted portions such as Yahoo toolbar and some other things. I clicked 'Ok' and it took me to a program that attempted to install 7-zip. When I started it, it loaded up fine and then seemed to be scanning my files and then prompted me saying that thee was a newer version and asked if I wanted to download it from the website. I removed them and figured that I should try Roguekiller as well. However, this morning I first ran Malwarebyte and it found 40 suspicious files. I downloaded Roguekiller a little while back and used it a few times with no issues. ![]()
